DOCUMENTS

Visitors from all countries but the USA need a passport to enter into Canada.  For U.S. and Canadian Citizens, a driver's license and second piece of identification, such as a birth certificate, is often required.  You should also have legal documentation of all minor children travelling with you.

VISAS & EMBASSIES

Visitors from nearly all Western countries do not need Visas to enter Canada.  To view a list of countries which require a Visa click here.  If a Visa is required they can be obtained free of charge and are granted for a period of six months or extendable for a fee.  Foreign embassies are located in Ottawa, for contact information for each embassy click here.

CUSTOMS

Here are few things you should know before entering into Canada, whether it is by land, air or sea.

  • Dogs & cats will need proof of rabies shots in the past 36 months.  Click here for more information about travelling with pets.

  • Adults are allowed to bring 40 oz of liquor or 24 beers.

  • Boaters may enter Canada and with an entry permit may stay up until one year.
